Tree planting on Stoke Newington Common
Braving the cold and rain, 10 volunteers from SNUG and the Tree Musketeers planted 7 new trees on the Common on 4th March. These include oaks, cherries and field maples. That makes about 90 odd trees that we have planted since 2000, with the Tree Musketeers and LB Hackney Tree Department.
Trees bring great environmental benefits for humans and wildlife as well as helping to make the place beautiful.
If you'd like to help, we will be pruning and thinning the hedges on the Common on Sunday March 12
